Recommended Readings (10 June 2016)

Welcome to the first of the themed episodes of Ne News, this week looking at the US Presidential Elections between Hillary Clinton (for the Democrats) and Donald Trump (for the Republicans), both with some dirty laundry when it comes to connections. Starting with Donald Trump, who is alleged to have links to the Russian Mafia (http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/News/2016/June.html#comment0282) as well as offensive comments towards Muslims (http://www.globalresearch.ca/trump-were-gonna-be-looking-into-how-we-can-get-rid-of-all-the-muslims/5476881) and Hispanics (many of whom are from Mexico) while his opponent Hillary Clinton herself has a lot of dirty laundry herself, mostly with the personal email account, as well as being a war goddess, corporate shill and anti-populist (http://www.globalresearch.ca/hillary-clinton-war-goddess-corporate-shill-anti-populist/5463042) (for more articles about Hillary Clinton, check out the articles at http://www.globalresearch.ca/search?q=Hillary+Clinton&x=0&y=0). There is also a crisis of character for Hillary Clinton by former Secret Service agent Gary J. Byrne (http://www.globalresearch.ca/former-secret-service-agents-book-blasts-hillary-clinton/5529266). It is also possible that Hillary Clinton was selected to be the Presidential candidate at a meeting of the Bilderberg Group meeting last year (http://www.globalresearch.ca/bilderberg-chooses-hillary-clinton-for-2016/5454829). A extreme-right wing billionaire and reality show star  like Donald Trump against war criminal Hillary Clinton, who stated that the United States created Al Qaeda (http://www.globalresearch.ca/hillary-clinton-we-created-al-qaeda/5337222) is what pass off as democracy is quite disturbing for the alleged "Champion of Democracy" and "Leader of the Free World". And this is particularly the case when many Americans prefer so-called "reality shows" such as MasterChef or The Voice as opposed to the important issues.

However, it is possible that a write-in will win the US Presidential Election (http://www.globalresearch.ca/evil-presidential-candidates-write-in-voting-and-political-protest/5528228) as a protest against the duopoly that exists in American politics, and this could see the revolt of the masses (http://www.globalresearch.ca/us-presidential-elections-2016-the-revolt-of-the-masses/5510197). It is worth noting that the United States of America is more "purple" than the stereotypical "red" (for Republicans) and "blue" (for Democrats) that is portrayed at election time in the United States. Below is the map of the results state-by-state in the 2012 Presidential Election in the United States with Romney in red and Obama in blue.

As you can see from the above post, many of the states in the south voted for the Republicans while those in the north-east tended to vote Democrats (note that this is for the Electoral College which is mostly winner-take-all). But look at the map below, and it appears more purple than the above map (also note that it is the 48 states excluding Hawaii and Alaska).

There is a possibility that we could see more people voting third-party at this year's elections (such as the Libertarian Party, the Green Party and the Constitutional Party) as well as independents. Watch this space.

Until Friday at 1:00pm.

The French “Patriot Act”: Why is France Extending Its State of Emergency? From Pseudo-Democracy to Dictatorship

Guillaume Kress Global Research 19 February 2016 President Francois Hollande, whose legitimacy stems from nothing but a fraudulent multiparty electoral system , has repeatedly abused his authority  since taking office in 2012 by waging illegal wars in foreign countries (i.e., Mali, Syria) without consulting his electors. [1] He  recently failed to confer with them when his Socialist government responded to last year’s terrorist attacks in Paris by adopting Orwellian domestic policies – policies that have allowed the Hollande administration to spy on citizens , block websites containing “terrorist related content” , strip convicted “terrorists” of French citizenship , and criminalize activism against Israeli occupation .[2] These policies prevent the spread of information which may expose the government’s criminal activities. We should note, here, that the state of emergency greatly facilitates political corruption. [3] To put it briefly, the state of...

EDITORIAL: Be Careful Italy

Ne News 2 June 2018 As you may be aware, there was a constitutional crisis in Italy following the decision to make a Eurosceptic Italian Finance Minister, which resulted in the Italian President to dissolve the government. Just a couple of days ago, this was resolved. However, it is worth noting that one of the parties in this coalition is the far-right wing Northern League, as well as the Five Star Movement. However, the people of Italy must be careful, especially in regards to the Northern League, as they may be the party to destroy Italy’s sovereignty and hand it over to the unelected and unaccountable European Union, which is increasingly becoming a fascist police state. That’s right, despite denying it and claiming that they are Eurosceptics, the Northern League may actually be the most pro-European Union party in the Italian Government. Throughout the world (and in particular the Western World), we are seeing the rise of far-right wing parties who claim ...

Big Pharma: An Example of the Best ‘Democracy’ Money Can Buy

Monica Cruz Liberation News 23 May 2018 The U.S. government constantly vilifies Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, and other governments it opposes, claiming that they are not democracies. Republicans and Democrats alike warn of “oppressive regimes” while telling us that the U.S. is a true democracy, and everyone here has a say through voting. But a closer look reveals that the deciding factor in U.S. “democracy” is not the vote at all, but the dollar bill. Policies are made and unmade not because of the number of votes they get, but because corporations spend hundreds of millions of dollars on ‘lobbying,’ and other ways of paying off law makers to pass the laws they want. Take the pharmaceutical industry. Virtually everyone takes medication at one time or another, and access to medicine can mean life or death. Many people cannot afford medication. In a recent poll, the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 80 percent of people in the U.S.  believe drug c...
