All Terrorist Attacks Are Equal, But Some Are More Equal Than Others

Ne News
4 June 2017

A couple of hours ago, there was a terrorist attack on London, and no doubt a State of Emergency will be imposed on the British people and the upcoming elections cancelled (it is worth noting that incumbent Theresa May is currently behind in the polls). And there is wall-to-wall coverage of this attack from the mainstream media.

Earlier this week, there was a terrorist attack on a Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. There was wall-to-wall coverage from the mainstream media and even a memorial concert featuring the who's who of the music industry.

A couple of days ago, there was a terrorist attack in Baghdad, which claimed a lot of lives, including a schoolgirl from Melbourne. However, there was no wall-to-wall coverage from the mainstream media, and there will be no memorial concert featuring the who's who of the music industry.

And there was also a terrorist attack in Kabul (http://www.globalresearch.ca/what-the-kabul-terror-attack-tells-of-afghanistans-future-pretext-for-enhanced-us-military-presence-media-disinformation-goes-into-high-gear/5593241) which claimed the lives of between 20 and 30 people, mostly security. However, there was no wall-to-wall coverage of this terrorist attack from the mainstream media (in fact there was no coverage from the mainstream media) and that there will be no memorial concert featuring the who's who of the music industry.

According to the mainstream media, all terrorist attacks are equal, but as demonstrated above, some terrorist attacks are more equal than others (i.e. the terrorist attacks in London and Manchester is more equal than the terrorist attacks in Baghdad and Kabul).

And no doubt that once again, there will be letters to the editors of the mainstream media calling for Muslims to condemn the attacks. But what is not mentioned is that Muslims are responsible for LESS THAN ONE PERCENT OF TERRORIST ATTACKS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION ACCORDING TO EUROPOL (http://www.globalresearch.ca/non-muslims-carried-out-more-than-90-of-all-terrorist-attacks-in-america/5333619) and most victims of terrorist attacks are Muslims (http://www.globalresearch.ca/muslims-are-the-victims-of-between-82-and-97-of-terrorism-related-fatalities-us-government/5516565). But this figure is not important for the mainstream media, as the this truth will blow the myth of the so-called "War on Terror", and that the fact that the mainstream media is pressing hard for hatred for Muslims is because AT LEAST 60 PERCENT OF THE WORLD'S CRUDE OIL RESERVES ARE IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES (http://www.globalresearch.ca/why-is-a-hate-campaign-being-waged-against-muslims/5494852). But it is also worth noting that you are more likely to be killed by a police officer than in a terrorist attack (http://www.globalresearch.ca/youre-55-times-more-likely-to-be-killed-by-a-police-officer-than-a-terrorist/5434934). In fact, you are more likely to die chocking on your own vomit than in a terrorist attack.

And while governments are spending billions on 'fighting terrorism', terrorism is not as much as a
threat as other causes such as domestic violence (https://www.echo.net.au/2014/09/real-threat-terrorism-australians-numbers/). On your left is a table of select causes of death in Australia between 2003 and 2012 according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Despite the Australian Government cutting funding for health care and increasing funding to fight terrorism, 1690 indigenous Australians has died from diabetes between 2003 and 2012, 879 Australians died from HIV, 228 Australians died from shingles and 168 Australians died from gastro in the same period. And if you are fearing death, stay away from ladders, beds and chairs, because you are more likely to die from falling out of bed, falling of ladders and chairs than in a terrorist attack.

All data in the table are from 2003 to 2012 except for terrorism, which was 1978 to 2014. It can be argued that the siege at the Lindt Cafe in Sydney as well as the shooting death of a police officer in Sydney a couple of years ago was more like homicide than what the media claimed it was (terrorism), and 2617 Australians died from homicide, compared with 113 for terrorism. In fact, according to the Treasury (which must declare an incident of terrorism), the last terrorist attack in Australia was the French Consulate bombing in Perth back in 1995 (22 years ago).

So before jumping on the anti-terrorism bandwagon, blaming Muslims for terrorism, look at the statistics, and take these so-called "terrorist attacks" into the context of these statistics. The chances of dying in a terrorist attack is very low. And the chances of dying in a terrorist attack at the hands of a Muslim is very remote. So take that into consideration before jumping on the bandwagon.

The French “Patriot Act”: Why is France Extending Its State of Emergency? From Pseudo-Democracy to Dictatorship

Guillaume Kress Global Research 19 February 2016 President Francois Hollande, whose legitimacy stems from nothing but a fraudulent multiparty electoral system , has repeatedly abused his authority  since taking office in 2012 by waging illegal wars in foreign countries (i.e., Mali, Syria) without consulting his electors. [1] He  recently failed to confer with them when his Socialist government responded to last year’s terrorist attacks in Paris by adopting Orwellian domestic policies – policies that have allowed the Hollande administration to spy on citizens , block websites containing “terrorist related content” , strip convicted “terrorists” of French citizenship , and criminalize activism against Israeli occupation .[2] These policies prevent the spread of information which may expose the government’s criminal activities. We should note, here, that the state of emergency greatly facilitates political corruption. [3] To put it briefly, the state of...

EDITORIAL: Be Careful Italy

Ne News 2 June 2018 As you may be aware, there was a constitutional crisis in Italy following the decision to make a Eurosceptic Italian Finance Minister, which resulted in the Italian President to dissolve the government. Just a couple of days ago, this was resolved. However, it is worth noting that one of the parties in this coalition is the far-right wing Northern League, as well as the Five Star Movement. However, the people of Italy must be careful, especially in regards to the Northern League, as they may be the party to destroy Italy’s sovereignty and hand it over to the unelected and unaccountable European Union, which is increasingly becoming a fascist police state. That’s right, despite denying it and claiming that they are Eurosceptics, the Northern League may actually be the most pro-European Union party in the Italian Government. Throughout the world (and in particular the Western World), we are seeing the rise of far-right wing parties who claim ...

Big Pharma: An Example of the Best ‘Democracy’ Money Can Buy

Monica Cruz Liberation News 23 May 2018 The U.S. government constantly vilifies Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, and other governments it opposes, claiming that they are not democracies. Republicans and Democrats alike warn of “oppressive regimes” while telling us that the U.S. is a true democracy, and everyone here has a say through voting. But a closer look reveals that the deciding factor in U.S. “democracy” is not the vote at all, but the dollar bill. Policies are made and unmade not because of the number of votes they get, but because corporations spend hundreds of millions of dollars on ‘lobbying,’ and other ways of paying off law makers to pass the laws they want. Take the pharmaceutical industry. Virtually everyone takes medication at one time or another, and access to medicine can mean life or death. Many people cannot afford medication. In a recent poll, the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 80 percent of people in the U.S.  believe drug c...
