Recommended Readings (2016/04/30)

Hello again. Hope you enjoyed the ANZAC Day Long Weekend. It is time for the recommended readings for this week. And here hoping that this week's Ne News is better than the problems that the station had last Friday (sorry about the lack of music and having to put up with talk for almost 1 hour).

Firstly, while the world has been focused on the apology by a celebrity couple, there has been a movement building in the United States against money in politics (http://www.globalresearch.ca/thousands-of-enraged-americans-storm-washington-media-yawns/5521737). It is worth noting that in many parts of the world, only the rich can get involved in politics, and each election cycle in the United States can cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and Australia is about to enter an election campaign for a double dissolution election on Saturday 2 July, and like in the United States, the one that spends the most money will win the election. Most of the politicians in Australia come from the top one per cent of the population.

In Peru, there was a David vs Goliath (and no, it's not Matt Parkinson from The Chase Australia) battle in which David (the people of Peru) forced Goliath (in the form of an American corporation) to scrap a multi-billion-dollar mining project (http://www.globalresearch.ca/david-beats-goliath-peru-locals-force-us-company-to-scrap-multibillion-dollar-mining-project/5521680). It will be interesting to see what will happen, and if Peru will be sued by the American Empire for listening to the people.

And speaking of the American Empire, they are beginning to spread propaganda against the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) are being targeted for 'revolutions;, and it looks like World War III have begun (http://www.globalresearch.ca/world-war-iii-has-begun/5521720). Of course, unless you are rich or a child of a politician, then you would be expected to go to war for the American Empire (yes, you will be conscripted), and die for the American Empire. And in a recent episode of Ne News, I mentioned that I rather go to jail than fight a war for the American Empire in Syria; and now I can say that I will not fight in any war for the American Empire, even if I am threatened with jail time.

And finally to Europe where the people of The Netherlands (who you may remember was voting in a non-binding vote on trade between the European Union and the neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine a couple of weeks ago), Dr. Rath Health Foundation is reporting that Dutch voters want a referendum on the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) (http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/News/2016/April.html#comment0230). Ne News congratulates the Dutch people for standing up to the undemocratic methods that the TTIP (as well as the Trans-Pacific Partnership in the Pacific Rim) has been imposed on the people without any say. The people of countries that would be affected by both the TTIP and the TPP should have a say on this. But of course, there are more important things that governments would want us to worry about, such as the celebrity couple and their dogs; rather than the biggest trade agreements in world history that will make it harder for ordinary people to survive.

Until Friday afternoon at 1:00pm AEST.

Trojan Horses and Color Revolutions: The Role of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED)

William Blum William Blum 7 August 2017 Image: Award winning author William Blum This article is a chapter from  Rogue State: A Guide to the World’s Only Superpower  by William Blum published in 2005. How many Americans could identify the National Endowment for Democracy? An organization which often does exactly the opposite of what its name implies. The NED was set up in the early 1980s under President Reagan in the wake of all the negative revelations about the CIA in the second half of the 1970s. The latter was a remarkable period. Spurred by Watergate – the Church committee of the Senate, the Pike committee of the House, and the Rockefeller Commission, created by the president, were all busy investigating the CIA. Seemingly every other day there was a new headline about the discovery of some awful thing, even criminal conduct, the CIA had been mixed up in for years. The Agency was getting an exceedingly bad name, and it was causing the powers-th...

CIA Backed Color Revolutions

F. William Engdahl New Eastern Outlook 1 October 2017 Many readers likely never heard the name of the remarkable Serbia-born political operator named  Srđa Popović . Yet he and his organization, CANVAS, have played a lead role in most every CIA-backed Color Revolution since he led the toppling of Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic in 2000, at least fifty according to last count. Now he has turned his sights on Hungary and Hungary’s popular and defiant Prime Minister Victor Orban . On September 8, the professional regime-change specialist Srđa Popović came to Budapest and joined with the anti-Orban opposition groups in front of the Hungarian Parliament. It‘s clear that Popović was not in town to promote his Hungarian book on nonviolent regime change but rather to give aid to the anti-Orban parties before Hungarian elections in spring of 2018. Many in Hungary smell the oily hand of Hungarian-born regime-change financier George Soros behind the Popović appe...

EDITORIAL: Be Careful Italy

Ne News 2 June 2018 As you may be aware, there was a constitutional crisis in Italy following the decision to make a Eurosceptic Italian Finance Minister, which resulted in the Italian President to dissolve the government. Just a couple of days ago, this was resolved. However, it is worth noting that one of the parties in this coalition is the far-right wing Northern League, as well as the Five Star Movement. However, the people of Italy must be careful, especially in regards to the Northern League, as they may be the party to destroy Italy’s sovereignty and hand it over to the unelected and unaccountable European Union, which is increasingly becoming a fascist police state. That’s right, despite denying it and claiming that they are Eurosceptics, the Northern League may actually be the most pro-European Union party in the Italian Government. Throughout the world (and in particular the Western World), we are seeing the rise of far-right wing parties who claim ...
