Recommended Readings: 2016/05/06

Welcome to the business end of Semester, and welcome to May (the year has gone so fast, it seemed like only yesterday that this show started). And this means recommended readings for this week.

Firstly, it looks like the Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Agreement between North America and Europe could be on the verge of collapsing (http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/News/2016/May.html#comment0244). It is well known that the TTIP (as well as its sister agreement in the Pacific Rim, the Trans-Pacific Partnership) is all about profits for US corporations, which is the reason why it is being negotiated in secret. As noted by the Dr. Rath Health Foundation, there are leaks that could end the TTIP, and it was mentioned on last week's Ne News that the Dutch want a vote on this agreement (http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/News/2016/April.html#comment0230). The question that should be asked now is not if this profit machine collapse, but when, as it is about to collapse. And with the elections near in the United States coming in in November (between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump) and Barack Obama wanting to sign both the TTIP and the TPP in his lame-duck period, and many of the candidates opposed to these agreements (note that Hillary Clinton voted for the North American Free Trade Agreement), and Congress opposed as well, it looks like dark days ahead for these agreements (and good days for us).

In regards to the Brussels terrorist attacks, links are beginning to emerge between Daesh (which is backed by the United States and Israel among others) and police-intelligence services (http://www.globalresearch.ca/brussels-bomb-attacks-links-between-terrorists-and-police-intelligence-services/5523394). It should be stressed that this "attack" has false flag all over it, as governments in Europe were passing police state laws in the wake, and these leaders announced that they would fight terrorism, even though they actively support Daesh (note that Ne News do not use the term "Islamic State" as it is not Islamic, nor a State). And in addition, Daesh are called "moderates" by the United States and its allies, despite their links to Al CIA-da (http://www.globalresearch.ca/anglo-american-terrorism-british-government-waging-information-warfare-in-support-of-al-qaeda-moderates/5523478). Also note that the so-called "War on Terror" is about creating an enemy for the American people to distract them from cuts to services such as higher education and health care (see below post for more information)

And in Syria, speaking of Daesh and its allies, it looks like that the War in Syria (which is about the oil) will be used as a proxy war against the Russians and Iran (http://www.globalresearch.ca/syria-escalation-terrorism-and-military-invasion-a-proxy-war-against-russia-and-iran/5523508). It is worth noting that this war will be about helping the terrorist state that is Israel expand into other parts of the Middle East to create a Greater Israel, which is no different to the Greater Germany dream of the Nazis.

Until tomorrow at 1:00pm AEST.

The French “Patriot Act”: Why is France Extending Its State of Emergency? From Pseudo-Democracy to Dictatorship

Guillaume Kress Global Research 19 February 2016 President Francois Hollande, whose legitimacy stems from nothing but a fraudulent multiparty electoral system , has repeatedly abused his authority  since taking office in 2012 by waging illegal wars in foreign countries (i.e., Mali, Syria) without consulting his electors. [1] He  recently failed to confer with them when his Socialist government responded to last year’s terrorist attacks in Paris by adopting Orwellian domestic policies – policies that have allowed the Hollande administration to spy on citizens , block websites containing “terrorist related content” , strip convicted “terrorists” of French citizenship , and criminalize activism against Israeli occupation .[2] These policies prevent the spread of information which may expose the government’s criminal activities. We should note, here, that the state of emergency greatly facilitates political corruption. [3] To put it briefly, the state of...

EDITORIAL: Be Careful Italy

Ne News 2 June 2018 As you may be aware, there was a constitutional crisis in Italy following the decision to make a Eurosceptic Italian Finance Minister, which resulted in the Italian President to dissolve the government. Just a couple of days ago, this was resolved. However, it is worth noting that one of the parties in this coalition is the far-right wing Northern League, as well as the Five Star Movement. However, the people of Italy must be careful, especially in regards to the Northern League, as they may be the party to destroy Italy’s sovereignty and hand it over to the unelected and unaccountable European Union, which is increasingly becoming a fascist police state. That’s right, despite denying it and claiming that they are Eurosceptics, the Northern League may actually be the most pro-European Union party in the Italian Government. Throughout the world (and in particular the Western World), we are seeing the rise of far-right wing parties who claim ...

Big Pharma: An Example of the Best ‘Democracy’ Money Can Buy

Monica Cruz Liberation News 23 May 2018 The U.S. government constantly vilifies Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, and other governments it opposes, claiming that they are not democracies. Republicans and Democrats alike warn of “oppressive regimes” while telling us that the U.S. is a true democracy, and everyone here has a say through voting. But a closer look reveals that the deciding factor in U.S. “democracy” is not the vote at all, but the dollar bill. Policies are made and unmade not because of the number of votes they get, but because corporations spend hundreds of millions of dollars on ‘lobbying,’ and other ways of paying off law makers to pass the laws they want. Take the pharmaceutical industry. Virtually everyone takes medication at one time or another, and access to medicine can mean life or death. Many people cannot afford medication. In a recent poll, the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 80 percent of people in the U.S.  believe drug c...
