Ne News
6 January 2018
The latest Hollywood news. The latest on the upcoming wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Merkle. And who will be going into the African jungle on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here? If you want all that, then don't read on because this is a review of the real news that occurred in the previous week. Some were unreported on Ne News (not perfect), while others were mentioned. So, here is the first Week in Review for 2018.
Lorde Accused of Being A Bigot for Boycotting Israel
Singer Lorde (famous for the song Royals) has been accused of being a bigot and her homeland of New Zealand has been accused of prejudice against Israel in an advertisement that appeared in the Washington Post. And this is because the 21-year old from Auckland made a decision to cancel a concert in Tel Aviv.
It is worth noting that 128 countries (including New Zealand and so-called "rogue state" North Korea among others) voted to condemn Washington's decision to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, 9 against (including the United States of America and Israel) and 35 abstained (including Australia).
The same ad has accused the Grammy winner of “a global anti-semitic boycott of Israel” (it is worth noting that Israel has accused those who are involved in the Boycott Divestment Sanctions campaign of anti-antisemitism, and has even threatened to persecute or even assassinate people involved in the Boycott Divestment Sanctions campaign).
The same ad also accused her of hypocrisy for boycotting Israel but visiting Russia even though they support the "genocidal regime" of Bashar al-Assad. It is worth noting that Russia and Iran are supporting al-Assad in fighting Daesh (or Islamic State), a terrorist group that is supported by Israel among others.

Protests in Iran
To Iran now and protests were held throughout Iran, with some people in the media saying this is about bringing democracy to Iran (mostly in Washington and London). But there are words that this so-called "protest" is being orchestrated by outsiders who want to incorporate Iran into the American Empire. It is worth noting that the protests in Iran is not as large as the mainstream media is telling us.
It is also worth noting the double standards of this, with the editorial at Strategic Culture Foundation noting the double-think here in which there would be outrage if Iran used interference calls in supporting protests in the West. While this is not mentioned in this week's editorial, the editorial notes crocodile tears that is coming from Washington and London in regards to these ''protests" in Iran.

Korea
A little closer to home and just weeks out from the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea; talks will be conducted between North Korea and South Korea with the hotline between the two countries being reconnected after being severed by former President Park Geun-hye two years ago. This could mean that the situation on the Korean Peninsula may be over in time for the Winter Olympics. The President of the Republic of KoreaMoon Jae-in has always wanted the Winter Olympics in South Korea in February to be an opportunity to showcase unity between the North and the South and had repeatedly requested the North’s participation in the upcoming games.
US President Donald Trump twittered:

US President Donald Trump twittered:
“Does anybody really believe that talks and dialogue would be going on between North and South Korea right now if I wasn’t firm, strong and willing to commit our total ‘might’ against the North.”It appears that he is taking credit for thawing of relations between the two Koreas, even though most of this work were the responsible for the governments in both the North and the South. It is worth noting that the United States of America has always been opposed to a unified Korean Peninsula, fearing the combined strength of both the North and the South (in fact, it was the United States of America that was opposed to a reunification election in Korea, which would've been won by Kim Il-sung).
